White-Blue-Yellow children's book bridge - a Ukrainian-Bavarian project

Reading "36 und 6 Katzen" by Halyna Wdowytschenko

Christa-Spangenberg-Saal

Things are getting uncomfortable for a rather colourful group of cats: they have to get out of their cellar at home. Because a metal door is now blocking it, making it impossible to slip through. What can they do? The one-eyed cat General, the level-headed Pooh, the noble Sphinx and their relatives - the food-loving Nimmersatte, the chic Georgines, the colour quartet, the Minis and many more - quickly move in with Mrs Buchtel. It goes without saying that a few surprises are to be expected from such a wild troop of hairy beasts.

In Ukraine, the turbulent cat stories, ‘36 and 6 Cats’, by Halyna Wdowytschenko are a real bestseller. Her agile animals now populate five volumes. Stories from the first volume can be heard in Munich. The event marks the end of a Bavarian-Ukrainian children's book bridge project, in which children's book packages from Ukraine were sent to 31 public libraries throughout Bavaria, including the International Youth Library.

For children aged 7 and over.
