Grade 1 - 8

workshop programme for school classes for the exhibition "What's going on on your head? Hairy things from children's books".

Creative workshop
My hair is standing on end

In this workshop, children will discover lots of interesting facts about hair using selected books and learn how hairstyles express feelings. Using wool, cotton wool, paper, colourful oil pastels and fabrics, the children create their own imaginative heads. Colourful characters with a hedgehog cut, stormy hairstyle or lion's mane are created.

Suitable for 1st - 5th grade.

Creative writing
Hair-sharp words - A Writing Workshop for Young Poets

In this sensory-intuitive writing workshop, children explore what hair means to them - as part of their own identity and in a cultural context. We approach writing in a playful and creative way: with fantasy journeys, sound, movement and poetic impulses. The focus is not on perfect expression, but on having the courage to use one's own voice.

Suitable for 3rd and 4th grade

Creative workshop
Hair - mirror of the soul?

Based on the exhibition, this creative workshop invites students to explore ideals of beauty in relation to hair and hairstyles in the context of different social and cultural backgrounds. The focus is on creating a collage that visualises their own personality, role models and desires. In doing so, they scrutinise what is ‘beautiful’ and why.
Suitable from year 5.
