From Marrakech to Baghdad

Illustrations from the Arab world

The exhibition invited on a journey through pictures from Egypt and Sudan to Syria, Lebanon and Iraq. Thereby, one could discover an illustration scene that is largely unknown in this country.

On display were works by eight Arab illustrators from the last 15 years, which gave a lively impression of the awareness of tradition, but also of the modernity and independence of current children's book illustration in the countries of the Arab world.

Workshops for school classes were offered during the exhibition.
