Anja Reumschüssel, born in Dresden in 1983, studied journalism, sociology and theology and attended the renowned Henri Nannen School of Journalism. She has received numerous awards for her features and has been writing non-fiction books for young people since 2018.

Her first novel ‘Über den Dächern von Jerusalem’ (Above the Rooftops of Jerusalem) is based on impressions from a stay of several months in Israel. In it, she tells the story of the complex Israeli-Palestinian history in the 20th and early 21st centuries through the eyes of an Israeli and Palestinian family whose children are bound by a fragile friendship. The novel has received numerous awards, including the 2025 Nobel Prize for Hope, and has been translated into five languages.

The author will read from the novel and quickly open up the room for a discussion with the audience.
