"Rabenkonzert" with Jutta Richter

Jella-Lepman-Haal

Winner of the 2026 Josef Guggenmos Prize for Children’s Poetry

Who’d like to sing a raven’s concert? Or whisper or roar? And think together about why the raven is called a raven and not a fish, a dog or simply a black bird?

The multi-award-winning author Jutta Richter presents her new book “Rabenkonzert. Gedichte für kleine und große Menschen” (english: Raven’s Concert: Poems for Young and Old) and inspires a love of language and poetry: After all, it is a volume full of verses about the little dreamer that lives in our heads and sometimes gets up to mischief, about goody bags bursting at the seams and, of course, about ravens. Many poems that can be read aloud or quietly and that invite you to rhyme, sing – or perhaps even caw like a raven?

The event is part of the ‘Poetry Recommendations for Children’ – a collaborative project between the German Academy for Language and Literature, the Lyrik Kabinett Foundation, the House of Poetry, the German Library Association and the International Youth Library Foundation.
