Books from my childhood - With cabaret artist Claus von Wagner

Jella-Lepman-Hall

After a break of three-year, we are happy to continue the series "Books of Childhood", in which personalities from public life, culture, society and politics talk about early reading experiences and reading preferences.

The first guest is political cabaret artist and author Claus von Wagner, who already wrote satirical texts in his school days. He has been developing solo programs for the cabaret stage for 25 years, regularly appears as an outside reporter or interview partner of Oliver Welke on the German "heute-show".Together with Max Uthoff, he also hosts the cabaret show "Die Anstalt" on ZDF. He exposes political, social and economic grievances in a way that is as subtle as it is clever and funny. He has received numerous awards for his work, including the prestigious Grimme Prize, the German Television Prize and the Dieter Hildebrandt Prize from the city of Munich.

Bavarian Radio journalist Niels Beintker will moderate the discussion. The series continues on the 26th of June 2023 with author Kirsten Boie.

The panel discussion will be held in German.

The event is free of charge, but please register beforehand as seats are limited. Please register via anmeldung@ijb.de or (0049) 89 891211 0.
