Axel Scheffler: Picture Worlds for Big and Small

Foyer & Wehrgang-Gallery

With the exhibition Axel Scheffler: Picture Worlds for Big and Small, the International Youth Library presents well-known and lesser-known works from the illustrator's studio. Illustrations, sketches, preparatory work, and free works provide a glimpse into the workshop of an extraordinarily productive and witty illustrator who is far more than the father of the Grüffelo.

On display are about 150 illustrations, including originals and sketches for the well-known books "Der Grüffelo," "Das Grüffelokind," "Stockmann," "Schnecke und Wal" and the latest picture book "Die Rüpelbande," created in collaboration with Julia Donaldson.

On weekends, the exhibition is open from 2 - 5 pm.
