Reading and Talk for School Classes

Barbara Yelin and Alexander Korb: "But I live:Three Stories of Child Survivors of the Holocaust" - Graphic Novel

06th July, 10 Uhr / Jella-Lepman-Hall

Reading and discussion with comic artist, Barbara Yelin, and Alexander Korb, historian.

For school classes grade 10 and up. In German.

Together with four survivors, three international cartoonists have told their stories in graphic novels that unforgettably demonstrate what the Holocaust meant to children - and not only to them. Only a few contemporary witnesses of the Holocaust are still alive. Most of them experienced persecution and mass murder traumatically as children. This book aims to preserve and pass on the memory of the Holocaust in an unusual way through the collaboration of survivors and illustrators. The historian Alexander Korb supported the comic artist Barbara Yelin in her research. In conversation, they will provide insights into their working methods and the project.
