The exhibition invites visitors on a pictorial journey that leads from Egypt and Sudan via Syria to Lebanon and Iraq. On the way/While “travelling”, visitors can discover an illustration scene that is largely unknown in Germany and outside of the artists’ home countries.
On display are works by eight Arab illustrators from the past 15 years that give a vivid impression of the awareness of tradition, but also of the modernity and independence of current children's book illustration in the Arab world.
