Presentation of the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award 2023

The Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award, ALMA, is awarded once a year by the Swedish Arts Council and presented by the Swedish Crown Princess in Stockholm. It is one of the most important international awards for children's literature. Previous winners include Christine Nöstlinger, Maurice Sendak, Shaun Tan, Guus Kuijer, Isol, Meg Rosoff, Wolf Erlbruch, Bart Moeyaert and Jean-Claude Mourlevat.

As part of the award's week-long festivities and events, the winner of the ALMA will be a guest at the International Youth Library. The winner will be announced in March at the International Children's Book Fair in Bologna. Information about the event in Munich will follow in April.
