Crafting: Houses of Lights

At the International Youth Library, we have been celebrating the Festival of Lights in this tradition for over 25 years. This year, children can make colorful houses of lights all day on the “Buß- und Bettag”, and after that every day during regular opening hours of the Children's Library. Then, to kick off the Christmas Market on December 08, 2023 at 5:00 p.m., a long procession of children and parents with self-made houses of lights will move around the castle pond and follow Lucia. When it is dark, the houses of lights are placed on the water, which turn the lake into a sparkling sea of lights.

Craft dates

Wednesday, November 22

10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (registration required at kinderbibliothek@ijb.de).

After that, open crafting is possible during opening hours in the children's library until December 7 (no registration required).

Cost: € 5.00 per child (incl. craft materials)
