Children's Calendar Competition 2020

The International Youth Library Foundation has been publishing a richly illustrated calendar with international poetry for children since 2011. All pages are well filled - all but one. This one is to be designed directly by the children. Every year, the library and publishing house staff are too curious to know what rhymes and pictures the children themselves come up with, so they left one weekly paper blank at the beginning of fall. Almost every day small works of art arrive at the International Youth Library, which sometimes cause amazement, sometimes admiration, sometimes a smile, but also reflection.

Thus, around 250 large envelopes full of creative calendar pages reach the Book Castle, including numerous joint works from kindergartens, schools and after-school care centers, from friends and siblings. A jury selects ten illustrated poems from all entries, which are particularly convincing due to their text and design. The winners will be published here in due course.

The calendar is published by edition momente.
