Every day, either mama or papa picks up the kids from school – now it’s time to turn the tables! Heaven, Alva and Max march to the factory, to the school and to the library. But mama and papa are nowhere to be seen. Have they perhaps already left to pick up their offspring? Yes, they have, and the parents find no trace of their children in the kindergarten. They look everywhere, until it finally dawns on them: the children are gone. Before panic breaks out, the gate opens and Heaven, Max and Alva stroll in. Karin Cyrén and Siri Ahmed Backström tell a somewhat familiar story in a refreshing way. The bright colour palette, ironic details and lightly flippant narrative tone are enthralling, as is a special highlight: the story is first told from the children’s perspective and then the adult’s. But there’s a twist: while the children behave quite maturely, the parents act quite childishly and child-like. (Age: 4+)
