Izumi Morisada from Japan is visiting the International Youth Library on behalf of his publishing house, Kondansha, in Tokyo. The company is specialized in both children’s and adult literature and also nonfictions. They are now planning to publish an encyclopaedia for children. Izumi said that so far, there is no encyclopaedia of high quality for children in Japan. During his stay, Izumi would like to gather information how this encyclopaedia could be designed in form and content. For this, Izumi would also like to get in touch with publishers and illustrators who might be of help.

Since Mr. Morisada is a specialist in the field of Manga, he will give a speech about Manga and its history at the Japanese Centre of the University of Munich on October 22nd, and will also arrange an exhibition at the International Youth Library with Manga editions he brought from Japan.
