The travelling exhibitions, which are based on successful in-house exhibitions of the International Youth Library, constitute a central part of the IYL’s national and international activities. Usually accompanied by a catalogue, they offer schools, public libraries, and other institutions the possibility to acquaint their visitors with important topics in children’s literature and enable young people to read books from various countries in many different languages about a wide variety of themes.

At the same time, the travelling exhibitions also represent the diversity of topics that is offered at the IYL’s unique archival collection of more than half a million books in over 130 languages.

Additional material, such as pictures, posters, or information displays, complements each selection of international books.

Unless indicated otherwise, the exhibitions are sent off in sturdy aluminium boxes and can be ordered free of charge. The exhibitors agree to accept the costs for transport and insurance (varying according to size and insured value).
