Children Between Worlds
Intercultural Relations in Books for Children and Young Adults
In this exhibition, 60 titles from 12 countries (85 books in total) present questions regarding intercultural relations from a great variety of perspectives. The wide spectrum ranges from picture books for small children (almost without text) to novels for young adults, from complex illustrated stories to photographic books about the beauty of our diverse and multifaceted world.
Goethe Institute has adopted the exhibition and has it travelling around Northern Africa / Middle East, Iran, and Afghanistan with the accompanying exhibition catalogue translated into Arab and Farsi respectively. Two further sets of books with the German and the English catalogue are available to other exhibitors around the world.
The exhibition is complemented by 18 displays with colour pictures take from three different picture books and by two introductory text displays (50x70cm each)
